Dave Scott is an extraordinarily talented guitarist who was one of the founding members of TUFF LUCK, and 80's hard rock/metal band that was on the cusp of major industry success. The story of why the band never fully crossed over into stardom is the subject of a critically acclaimed documentary by the same name, and Andrew Klein did an amazing job of telling the story of Tuff Luck. You can read our review of the movie here:
I had the pleasure of speaking with Tuff Luck guitarist Dave Scott above the movie, and we also talked about where his career is headed next.
Who is Militia Vox? She is so many things. She's an artist, a writer, an incredible vocalist (one with a four octave range), and nothing less than a commanding presence. Know for her stints on VHI, MTV2 and Fuse as well as fronting the all female Judas Priest cover band Judas Priestess, Militia Vox is a performer that grabs your attention and keeps it right where she wants it.
Having recently released her single 'Vow' off of her upcoming album The Villainess, Militia sat down with us for one of the best "conversations" we've had in a very long time. Our chat lasted for roughly an hour, so we are breaking it up into three installments. We give you now part 1 of our talk with Militia Vox.

If you're a rock fan, and you're anything like me, a talented guitarist that just sets a track on fire is the Holy Grail. Give me the days of scorching riffs, long guitar solos and the like and I'm a happy camper. Some years back I was introduced to a phenomenal rock band by the name of Fosterchild. They had that great classic rock feel with some modern rock thrown in, and yes......they had a killer guitarist by the name of Brian Quinn. As time has gone on the members of Fosterchild have moved on to other projects, but I have always kept an eye on Brian's career and as it turns out there was good reason to. It was recently announced that Brian is joining not one, but two great bands. He has been named a member of Candlebox as well as Le Projet, a new super project involving members of Candlebox, Sevendust and The Infinite Staircase. It was great to see Brian's name associated with these two bands, and I had the pleasure of speaking with him this past week about everything coming up for both projects.
It's not often that I find myself at a loss for words, but I honestly don't even know how to begin to tell you all how great this track is. Le Projet is one of the most exciting projects to come around in a very long time. Comprised of members from Candlebox, Sevendust and The Infinite Staircase, as well as founding member of Fosterchild and one of the best guitarists I've had the pleasure of seeing play, Mr. Brian Quinn, Le Projet is hugely impressive on paper alone. If credentials mean nothing to you, then just listen. I'm just gonna leave this right here.
Bryan McPherson is an impressive artist. He is a singer-songwriter who combines folk, punk, and even some alternative flavor into songs that inspire and hopefully provoke conversation. After speaking with him recently, it is clear he has some great stories to tell. You can check out our interview here, and be sure to check him out on Facebook.
Ashland is a four piece alternative/pop band from central Illinois. They create music that is both haunting and aggressive, yet catchy and upbeat at the same time. Lead vocalist, Asia Woodward has a voice that is both beautiful and dark, one that just stays with you. Check out our fun interview with the band here, and give them some love on Facebook.
Blues rocker/singer-songwriter Meghann Wright is making her inaugural run on the Vans Warped Tour this summer. She is playing her set in the "acoustic basement" area all summer long, and hers is a set you won't want to miss. She brings a very chill, deep and easily relatable vibe to her music. Meghann took a moment out of her busy opening day of Warped Tour to talk with us about her music as well as causes near and dear to her heart.
We rounded out our first batch of Warped Tour interviews with none other than MOD SUN. There's nothing better than doing an interview with an artist who embodies the true spirit of the tour or event they are on. Warped Tour has always been the best time in summer that a music fan could have, and just two minutes on the phone with MOD SUN and it was clear that "fun" was definitely the name of the game. Whatever you do, don't pass on his set on Warped Tour. He is a party waiting to happen.
One of our favorite Warped bands from two years ago have returned to punk rock summer camp this year. New Beat Fund is too much fun, and Shelby took a moment to chat with us just before the start of the tour. Be sure to catch their set on Warped tour this summer in your city!
We are kicking off our coverage of the 2015 Vans Warped Tour with some artist interviews, beginning with this year's catering band.... 3PM. This pop-punk trio has gained a lot of attention this past year, and they are definitely going to be gaining even more fans on the road this summer.
